This work is about the expanded conception of text and takes off in the use of this expression in the high school curriculum. The work begins with a theory chapter, where a few different definitions of text are the basis for reasoning about factors which can have contributed to an expansion of the conception. Hereby other important expressions, related to the expanded conception of text, as hypertext, multimedia and intermediality, are brought up. Further, is examined empirically how the expanded conception of text is interpreted, rhetorically and practically, by a few teachers in the High School. Finally, covered scientist?s theories are discussed and compared with the concluded empiric data.The study shows however, that the expanded conception of text in the curriculum has not become a conception for the teachers who were interviewed.

Men commit more suicide than women all over the world. They commit more violent crimes and are more inclined to alcohol abuse. There are studies that relate this behaviour to the hegemonic image of masculinity.My work focuses on Switzerland. The suicide rate in Switzerland is worrying, for men between 15 and 44 years suicide is the most common cause of death. There is no national suicide prevention and no information or prevention that highlights the connection bet- ween the hegemonic image of masculinity and the suicide rates.

This thesis is comprised of an annotated translation of an English IT-text into Swedish. The source text is the installation manual for the software SDL Trados Studio 2014 and the thesis also contains a text analysis of the source text. The goal of the translation has been to use norms in the target culture and thus move the translation toward acceptability. The thesis therefore discusses norms based on Toury's (1995) framework.The thesis also contains an empirical study of the translation of three different IT-texts. The study shows that, when it comes to the specific norms investigated in the study, Swedish translations of IT-texts are guided by norms in both the source culture and the target culture..

Denna rapport är en reflekterande text över skapandet av en digital handbok för animatörer som är med och startar ett nytt spelprojekt. Handboken är ett verk som gjordes som examensarbete på Högskolan i Skövde vårterminen 2009.Rapporten beskriver processen bakom skapandet av handboken. Denna process innefattar praktiskt arbete på företaget Junebug AB i Malmö, en förberedande litteraturstudie av hur text skrivs på ett tydligt, pedagogiskt sätt, en ytterligare litteraturstudie av tidigare skrivna handböcker för animatörer, intervjuer med animatörer i branschen och på utbildningen och sammanställning av handboken.Den centrala frågeställningen var: Hur kan man i handboksform på bästa sätt förmedla hur en animationspipeline1 tas fram, underhålls/effektiviseras och dokumenteras?Målet med arbetet har varit att sammanställa en handbok som andra animatörer kan använda sig av. Syftet har varit att lära mig om en riktig arbetsmiljö i spelbranschen och förmedla detta i handboken.

Mitt arbete beskriver hur man kan arbeta ämnesövergripande med bild och text i kombination. Jag vill i mitt arbete genom exempel visa vikten av att bild och text vävs samman i undervisningen. Mitt val av arbete grundar sig på att mina elever saknade förståelse av bildspråket. Orden och texterna kom därför in som ett naturligt moment i undervisningen. Syftet med arbetet är att undersöka hur text och bild i kombination kan ge en djupare förståelse för bildspråket.

Purpose;the purpose of this study is to investigate whether a product ad observer's purchase intention, perception of product quality, brand image perception and price perception is affected depending on the size of the text that was used in the ad to communicate the product price.Methodology;the study was conducted using a quantitative method through a survey. The implementation of the study has been done by using three variants of the same suit ad where the three different variants have been manipulated on the text size on the price information, by reduced / increased the text size. The implementation has also been carried out using two different ad sender, with three ads for each sender.Result and conclusion;the text size on the price of a product ad mainly affects the observer's price and quality perception, where the small text will have a positive effect on quality perception and a negative effect on the quality perception. This essay is a qualitative study that examines seven teachers ? views on argumentative texts. The aim is to examine how teachers work and discuss argumentative texts, and how they work to develop students ? writing. The main question is: What are the teachers experience, perception and attitude about working with argumentative text? Furthermore: What specific features are important when they mark this type of text? : How do teachers work with formative grading in terms of writing this type of text? Research shows that Swedish students ? ability to write argumentative texts are inadequate.

In this study I compare the use of reporting verbs in direct speech in Swedish and Polish literary prose. The aim is to examine how differences in usage are reflected in translations to and from Swedish and to what extent the translator adapts the text to the target language and its literary conventions.I have compared the material on two levels: source text versus source text in Polish and Swedish respectively, to see what kind of speech verbs are most commonly used, and source text versus target text, to study the strategies the translators have used and to what extent reporting verbs are altered or not.I have also studied quotation verb + adverbial phrase or prepositional phrase, to investigate if they are more frequent in the two target texts or adapted to the literary concentions of the target language. .

The essay is about the concept of text in a wider perspective, what can be included in that, how it can be used and above all, why one might want to use it. The essay will also include what the term popular culture implies, and school?s attitude towards it, since some of the medias that are a part of the text in a wider perspective, many times fits the description ?popular culture?. Most of the earlier research show that the positive aspects of the use of text in a wider perspective as the same time as it attacks school because school is opposing the popular culture.       The essay consists of two parts and it begins with a theoretical part where I present existing research about the concept of text in a wider perspective and the research about popular culture.
